Playhouse visit

We took a trip down to the west yorkshire playhouse costume department today to look at the tailored jackets they have, and wow, they do have many! they have a free lance tailor that is commissioned to make any tailored costumes they need, and some are ripped open so you can see all the details inside, its hard to believe that so much work is put into each jacket that you cant even see, hand stitches, padding, layering, all sorts! i took quite a few drawings (which i need to do more of, actual sketches) and lots of photos to help me remember how they are made, and what specific techniques were used, and when it was appropriate to use them. the lady who worked there was really nice too, and showed us how to find out when a jacket was made, and how the stock was organised.
