end of elective week.

so its the end of the four day elective week and i have worked really hard in the research of this project, and i feel like i have come up with a very good final result, i must admit its not as well made as my hat last year, but i think my sketch book work is a lot better. i asked he tutor how she marks the work, as i was very unclear, and she said she likes to see the progress through the research and lots of notes to explain where i am, i have done all of this so hopefully the marks i receive will reflect this and that i have really listened.

elective week.

so its the start of the elective week this week, and im not really feeling it. Its just that we have got so much work to do for our other project, i feel like im sinking fast. i feel like the elective should have been put later on in the year, or in the easter break, where we have more than one week off so we still get a break as well, but the way it is done, means we work the whole way through to christmas, and im just shockingly tired.

last years electives, i feel, were marked very harshly, so i am really going to try and push my work forwards this time to try and get a first. i have thought of a theme already, liked i was asked to in the brief we were given before, and ive been looking into the dark night and the patterns in lights, and how art is seen in inner cities, especially the landscape.

critical studies

so we had our first critical studies lecture today, was nice to meet the tutor, James, he seems a lot more down to earth than Marcel from last year. (which by the way i have nothing against him personally, its just his teaching style did not suit most of our learning styles last year.) but anyway, james does seem more down to earth and less lily to put super pressure on us, whilst still giving us the stuff we need to learn. so i have a good feeling about crit this year!
