Fashion Art & Culture hand in
Back to uni today, after Easter. It was also today that we had to hand in our Fashion art & culture project. I must admit its not been my favorite project, I've found it hard to make a piece that means so much, i was wanting to roll all my ideas into one, and it just wasn't working, i found it hard just to focus on one aspect of my research so the final piece wasn't just a miss-match of ideas and concepts. Unfortunately i don't have my final photo to hand, but as soon as i get it back ill upload one onto hear. It was also weird that my final piece wasn't a garment, but a photo of a paper doll with different fabric covered paper clothes. it seemed a little too easy to make for it to warrant a good mark, which is what I'm worried about, but I've been assured that its more about the meaning behind the photo than how it was made...so we'll see.

Today i went to the butterfly gardens in Roundhay to research my new project on metamorphosis. I have had trouble thinking of a starting point for this project, so i thought i would start with the obvious and work on from there. It was actually loads of fun trying to get a photo of a butterfly, especially when they are camera shy! My favorite thing (apart from the meercats!!) was the cocoons, i got quite a lot from them, i didn't think there was so many variations of them! some look so much like leaves its unbelievable.
At least i have a starting point now!

Photography studio
Today me and a few people booked out a photography studio to do out Fashion Art and Culture shoots. they were so much fun to do! all helping each other out, being each others models. Here is a picture of me being a model for Dawn. the wire top was very scary to wear, i came away with soooooo many cuts all over my body, but it was fun!Unfortunately i cant find a copy of my final photo on this computer, so watch this space, photo to come!
I must say it feels like we started this project YEARS ago, i'm getting very tired of it now, i think we've had too long to do it, and i've ran out of ideas and energy, which is a shame, because i think it could have been so much better than it is! It has at least made me think about how i manage my time, and in the next project i will put more effort in, and make the most of my time.
