I think it will be hard to decide what to do in this project. we have three 'questions' to choose from. I have a feeling i will go with the last one, on McDonaldisation, cultures, and race. I will have to find my personal view point on this for my project to be successful. At the end of the project, the image will be uploaded onto an online gallery which is rather cool.

Fashion Art & Culture
We have started having lectures on our new project, fashion, art & culture (which is only a 10 credit module i found out, after thinking it was 20 for a while). Its been really interesting, we have learnt a lot about fashion in the last 100 years, a lot of which i didn't know, so i feel i have learnt a lot.

Millinery
For my elective in reading week i took Millinery, and i loved it!
we were all given a felt hood to work from, and we had to mould our hats from a block from scratch, i didn't realise how much hard work and time went into making a hand made hat. I even lined mine, and did all the decorations by hand. i really enjoyed it, although my hands were killing me by the end of the week, i wish i'd have worn a thimble now or plasters on my fingers or something from pushing all those pins into the wooden block, they were red roar. I based my hat on a woodland fairy tale theme, and i think it turned out brill! (For a first go anyway)! and i cant wait to get my mark back for it, i think my sketchbook was fairly strong, and i was pleased that i managed to get it all done in just one week!

sketch book stuff
so i just thought i'd upload some of the best parts of my sketch book that i've just handed in! Including a knitwear sample i made (i LOVE the knitting machine!), My final line up, and research pages. I have really enjoyed this project, i think i have found a suitable way of working for me, a nice style and i think i've learnt so much.

First of all, i can't seem to get these images the right way up, so your just going to have to tilt your head.
And secondly, YEYYYYYYY!!! i handed in my last 20 credit module of the year today! I was so stressed out about it, i've tried really really hard on this one, worked my guts off, i really hope it pays off and i get a good grade, i'm hoping to beat my last 20 cred module (66) so we'll see.
I'll tell you what the pictures are from too, the top one, the sexpistols poster, was an image i used in one of my trend boards for A/W08 PUNK. The gorgeous green little number is a see by chloe dress that i used for my shop reports under design diffusion. i tried on the dress and i was searching for a reason to buy it. but i dont think i would ever have the opportunity to wear it, plus, id have to eat gravel for the rest of the month until payday if i had! although it was on sale from £500 to £180! bargain! (If your rich). I'll stick to my TopShop thanks (which i happen to now know is lower mass market).
The fridge picture is from my main body of research, the project was called container culture, so i looked at things that contained. then i came across a picture of a cute little house with all its contents stuck to its outside shell, the walls, roof, windows, all had things stuck to them, so i took this concept and stuck all my fridges contents (the little that was in there) on its door. I got some really good shapes from doing this.
It was the first time i've ever had to do a final line up in this project, i found this so fun to do! i really enjoyed the whole process and i loved how mine turned out! i was nice to see how everybody reacted differently to the brief too, so many different outcomes!
We've also started our fashion art and culture lectures, which are really interesting, i love learning about the history and movements in fashion, i know i'm going to enjoy this brief. Which reminds me, i have to have 200 words and a design board for tomorrows lecture to present. better get to it!!
