up to christams

We have just broken up for christmas and i've been working quite a lot on the new project, i've managed to get one of the trend boards done, on circus fashion, only three more to go! i've been around the shops again taking more photos and making more notes. the four trends i have decided to do (i think) are; Circus, Heritage, Punk couture, and pagan (which i think i will call Boudoir, as i don't think the name reflects it very well, and is a bit misleading). 

For my seven A3 pages of the shop reports, i think i will not just look at one shop per section, I will look at a few, this way i will be able to get more information from more sources. I have started collecting bags, tags etc from the places i will look at too.

new project

We got our new projects this week, and its been fun. we have to find out the four main fashions of A/W08 and take photos of garments in shops, it was funny trying to get photos in expensive shops, it must have looked like we were trying to steal or something but we managed to get quite a few good shots.

on the top shop website it says that the fashions are: 2tone (block prints, two colours, fairly 1960's). Circus (satin fabrics, harlequin prints, bold block colours, sequins, boleros). Punk Couture (checkered prints, safety pins, band t-shirts, union jacks) and Pagan (black lace and feathers, witch's style mixed with pretty skirts, mysterious feel).

I have been on WGSN and Trendsetter and they have similar outlines, but with different names. silhouette wise, exaggeration is in fashion, sleeve holes in the wrong places and inspiration from lamps, diamond dresses are also in. I'm looking forward to learning more CAD skills on Wednesday, i think i will be able to get a lot more done once i know how to do a few more things.
